Bocobay is revolutionizing hospitality through innovative, tech-powered service and inspiring, thoughtfully designed accommodations combined into one seamlessly managed experience. Launched in 2020 in Aruba, Bocobay is a private-equity backed business bringing a new standard to the Caribbean vacation rental market. We are now set to expand to our third island, Jamaica base in Runaway Bay.

The Villa Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering high quality meals for guests staying in private villas. This role requires a strong focus on personalized service, discretion, food safety, and consistency. The Villa Chef operates with a high level of independence while maintaining alignment with resort culinary standards and guest expectations.

Knowledge & Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cook in a hotel, villa or restaurant setting.

  • Proficiency in cooking techniques and culinary methods.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for food quality and presentation.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Experience:
Must have basic knowledge of kitchen operation, understanding the level of the kitchen and what is expected of you on a daily basis

Functions & Responsibilities:

Food Preparation and Meal Service

  • Prepare and cook meals for villa guests including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special occasions
    Customize menus based on guest preferences, allergies, dietary restrictions, and cultural requirements.

  • Ensure all dishes meet established quality, taste, and presentation standards.

  • Plate and present meals attractively in line with luxury villa service expectations. Maintain consistency in portion sizes and timing of service

Guest Experience and Service

  • Engage professionally and courteously with guests when required

  • Maintain strict discretion and respect guest privacy at all times

  • Coordinate with villa attendants and service staff to ensure seamless meal delivery

  • Respond promptly and positively to guest requests and feedback

Food Safety and Hygiene

  • Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards

  • Conduct daily checks on food freshness and storage conditions

  • Maintain cleanliness of villa kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils

  • Follow all health and safety regulations including proper waste disposal

Kitchen Management and Organization

  • Maintain an organized and efficient villa kitchen environment
    Label, date, rotate, and store food items properly
    Assist with inventory control and ensure adequate stock levels for villa operations
    Minimize food waste through proper planning and storage

Teamwork and Communication

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with homeowners, guests, and the General Manager regarding meal planning, guest preferences, and operational needs

  • Coordinate with villa attendants and support staff to ensure smooth and timely meal service

  • Provide guidance and assistance to junior kitchen staff or helpers when assigned

  • Promptly report supply shortages, equipment or maintenance issues, and any operational concerns to the General Manager
