Job Description:
Bocobay is hiring a part-time HR Coordinator to own recruitment, onboarding and offboarding across our five countries. You'll be the person who makes sure every new joiner lands well, every leaver goes cleanly, and nothing falls through the cracks in between.
About Bocobay
We're a fast growing Caribbean hospitality brand, combining modern technology with 5-star service. We are on track for $35m annual revenue in 2026 and have doubled in size every year since our launch in 2020. We now operate in Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, with several new markets in the works. We're profitable and self-funded.
About the role
We have around 85 people across five countries and we're still hiring. Right now that's held together by a mix of spreadsheets, goodwill and people doing it in the gaps between other jobs. We want someone to take it properly.
You'll start with the employee lifecycle: getting roles filled, getting people set up, and getting the exit right when someone leaves. It's a part-time role to begin with, with the scope to broaden into wider HR and grow into full time as the company does.
What you'll do
- Run recruitment end to end: write and post ads, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, chase feedback, and keep candidates warm and informed.
- Own onboarding: contracts out and signed, systems and accounts set up before day one, first-week plan agreed with the hiring manager, and a check-in at 30 and 90 days.
- Own offboarding: notice handled properly, access revoked, equipment returned, final pay and paperwork correct, exit conversation done.
- Keep our people data clean and in one place — contracts, start dates, roles, holiday, right-to-work — so we can actually answer questions about our own headcount.
- Document how we do all of the above, so it works the same way in Curaçao as it does in London.
- Flag what's not working before it becomes a problem.
What we're looking for
- You've done recruitment coordination, onboarding or HR admin somewhere that was growing quickly.
- You're organised and you close loops. Nothing sits in your inbox for a week.
- You're comfortable chasing people — managers, candidates, contractors — until you get an answer.
- You write clearly and warmly. Candidates and new joiners form their view of us largely from your emails.
- You're discreet with confidential information.
- You're a 'buck-stops-with-me' kind of person who never says 'that's not my job'.
- You're confident in Excel or Google Sheets, and you pick up new tools quickly.
- Experience with multi-country hiring or contractor arrangements is a bonus, but not required.
- Additional languages spoken in the Caribbean (e.g. Spanish, Dutch, French) are a plus.
Worth knowing before you apply
This role is remote and part-time, around 20 hours a week, with some flexibility on how you spread them. You'll work with our COO and on-island leaders across time zones, so some overlap with Caribbean hours matters. We're a young company with ambitious plans and things move quickly — we'd rather you tell us something is broken than quietly work around it. In exchange, we're flexible and we trust people.
This is a role that can grow. If you want more HR scope over time, it's there to take.
