Operations Coordinator (Dominican Republic)

  • Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic
  • Full-Time
  • On-Site

Job Description:

Job Summary

As our first hire in the Dominican Republic you will play a crucial role in helping us amaze our guests with five-star experiences. You need to be an all-rounder and problem solver, who is as comfortable providing frontline guest services as they are representing Bocobay in front of property owners, coordinating quick action with suppliers, and making sure our internal systems are kept up to date with all relevant information. In short, you’re a “buck-stops-with-me” kind of person who never says “that’s not my job”.

Bocobay is revolutionizing hospitality through innovative, tech-powered service and inspiring, thoughtfully designed accommodations combined into one seamlessly managed experience. Launched in 2020 in Aruba, Bocobay is an international business bringing a new standard to the Caribbean vacation rental market. Having expanded to Curaçao in 2024, we now have our eyes set on several further expansion projects, of which the Dominican Republic one.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own operational efficiency and guest satisfaction for our operation in Las Terrenas.
  • Act as the face of Bocobay in the resort, representing us well in front of guests and homeowners.
  • Welcome guests and support them during their stay.
  • Manage a small team of front desk agents to guarantee a smooth operation of the resort.
  • Manage third-party suppliers such as laundry, maintenance or housekeeping.
  • Perform property inspections.
  • Support with onboarding new listings by coordinating photography and collecting listing information.
  • Assist with homeowner relations.

What we look for:

  • Hunger and drive to build an exciting new business that is on track to become a major Caribbean hospitality brand.
  • Great interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Guest-centric and positive mindset.
  • An obsessive attention to detail and a high level of organization.
  • Comfort in independent problem solving with the humility to ask for help when needed.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, ever-changing, always challenging startup environment.
  • Multiple years of experience in a guest-facing hospitality role.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s License, clean driving record and the right to work in the Dominican Republic.

What we offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • A high-energy, start-up environment with smart, positive coworkers
  • Regular team events

Important note:

We are a young company with ambitious growth plans, and this is not a 9-to-5 role (at least not always). The nature of our business means that urgent requests can come in at all times, and while we always try to make sure our staff get sufficient rest and time off, hospitality hours can be long and unpredictable during peak times. This reality is offset by flexibility around working hours during quiet times: Our default is to trust our employees, and we encourage you to make up for extra hours worked by clocking off early when there is the possibility to do so (coordinating with your team members).

Application process:

  1. Apply
  2. Short call with a team member
  3. Interview with a manager
  4. Offer!
