Bocobay is revolutionizing hospitality through innovative, tech-powered service and inspiring, thoughtfully designed accommodations combined into one seamlessly managed experience. Launched in 2020 in Aruba, Bocobay is an international business bringing a new standard to the Caribbean vacation rental market. Having expanded to Curaçao in 2024 and Jamaica in 2026, we now have our eyes set on several further expansion projects, of which the Dominican Republic one. 

As our General Manager in the Dominican Republic you will be the key driver behind our successful launch in the country. You need to be an all-rounder and problem solver, who is skilled at leading a luxury hospitality business to operational and commercial success. Although you are leading the business, you will not be above jumping into any operational matter that needs attention - you should take pride in knowing the operation inside-out and regularly spending time directly assisting guests. In short, you’re a “buck-stops-with-me” kind of person who never says “that’s not my job”. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Initially, help us set up our first site in Las Terrenas. Later, grow our business to a successful multi-site operation that spans the tourism hot spots in the Dominican Republic. 
  • Hire and develop a small team of superstars to assist you in your mission. 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with third-party suppliers and deliver on quality and commercial viability.
  • Act as the face of Bocobay in the Dominican Republic, representing us well in front of business partners, guests and homeowners.
  • Drive the expansion of our business by closing deals with property developers and individual homeowners.
  • Own our administrative setup in the Dominican Republic (legal, licensing, finance). 


What we look for: 

  • 10-15 years of experience in luxury hospitality, of which at least 5 in a senior management position. 
  • Direct financial responsibility in previous management positions (P&L ownership). 
  • Hunger and drive to build an exciting new business that is on track to become a major Caribbean hospitality brand. 
  • Great interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Guest-centric and positive mindset.
  • An obsessive attention to detail and a high level of organization. 
  • Comfort in independent problem solving with the humility to ask for help when needed.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, ever-changing, always challenging startup environment.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish. 
  • This position requires a valid driver’s License, clean driving record and the right to work in the Dominican Republic.
